SUITS-BUECHE PLANETARIUM FINISHES RENOVATION

The Suits-Bueche Planetarium at the Schenectady Museum has just finished a renovation that brought a new star machine to the facility.

The GOTO Chronos was delivered on August 29th, with the installation taking place during the first several weeks of October.  It is one of only 12 such star machines in the United States.

The renovation and installation was performed by the staff of the Suits-Bueche Planetarium, and the following companies:

Ash Enterprises, East Coast Control Systems, GOTO USA Inc., and Spitz Inc.

During the week of June 27th - 30th, Planetarium Manager Steve Russo and Planetarium Educator Megan Dominguez cleaned more than 10 years of dust and dirt off the planetarium dome.

Contact Steve or Megan for more information about this renovation.

All of the equipment was covered to prevent it from getting dusty.

With Steve being afraid of heights, Megan gets to the high spots on the dome.

The "bubbles" in the photos are the dust particles illuminated by the strobe.

Megan reaches new heights in the planetarium field.  She must be at the zenith of her career !

Another use for "Wite Out" correction fluid !                                                   And a nice clean dome waiting for the GOTO !
